Abstract:Potential ecological risk and Geoaccumulation index were adopted by concentration of Cu、Pb、Zn、Cd、Hg in surface sediments which was obtained from 2004 to 2011 in order to investigate pollutants of heavy metals in Caofeidian. The results showed that the concentration of Cu、Pb、Zn、Cd、Hg in 2011 was higher than the background value in Bohai Bay.Hg was the main pollutant in surface sediments and the potential ecological risk index was in strong level. The results of the two evaluation methodswere basically in accordance and the pollution order was:Hg>Cd>Pb>Cu>Zn.The ecological risk was in strong level.
