Abstract:
Enterococcus and fecal coliform in Fujiazhuang bathing beach, Dalian were monitored daily and continuously from July 31, 2015 to August 16, 2015, and quantitative microbial risk assessment was used for evaluation. The results were as follows. The health risk of men, women and children (under 15 years old) suffering from gastrointestinal diseases related with enterococci were 1.78‰~43.31‰, 1.19‰~30.03‰ and 2.37‰~55.55‰, respectively; the risk related with fecal coliform were 0.02‰~8.34‰, 0.01‰~5.59‰ and 0.03‰~11.08‰, respectively during the sampling period in 2015 at Fujiazhuang bathing beach, Dalian.Rainfall was found to impact the water quality of the bathing beach significantly, which resulted in the deterioration of beach water quality and increased swimmers' health risk.According to the results of this study, it is recommended that enterococci be regarded as one of the indicators for monitoring bathing beaches, to assess the water quality and human health risk more reasonably.
