Study on sea utilization for liquefied natural gas receiving station water intake-outlet based on marine ecology

  • As a high-quality, green and clean energy, natural gas has been highly valued. Multiple LNG receiving stations have been built in coastal areas. The entrainment effect and residual chlorine in the process of receiving and drainage of the receiving station will have a certain impact on the surrounding marine ecological environment. In this study, eight LNG receiving stations planned or under construction in major coastal provinces and cities in China were taken as examples to analyze the project scale, water intake and drainage volume, site selection of water intake and drainage facilities, sea use scale, cold drainage and influence range of residual chlorine of LNG receiving stations. The study believes there are still problems in the management of water intake and drainage of LNG receiving stations in China, such as imperfect management system and lack of technical standards. According to the results of case analysis, suggestions are put forward to further strengthen the management of water intake and drainage for LNG receiving stations from the perspectives of management, standards and planning.
