Suitability evaluation of exploitation and utilization in uninhabited islands -a case study in Liudun island of Fangchenggang city

A suitability indicator system of exploitation and utilization of uninhabited island was established, according to the characteristics of the uninhabited islands in Guangxi.Liudun island of Fangchenggang city as an example, two aspects of ecological protection importance and economic development feasibility were considered to evaluate its development and utilization suitability.The results show that Liudun island was a restrictive development uninhabited island.Habitat protection and ecological vulnerability were of great significance to the ecological protection of Liudun island, especially habitat protection.Tourism resource was the main future development and utilization object of Liudun island, and the order of economic development feasibility was:tourism resource > land resource > freshwater resource > biological resources > regional development condition > port resource > renewable energy source > mineral resource.Based on ecological protection, Liudun island was suitable for developing eco-tourism, but the development power and tourism capacity should be strictly controlled to protect and restore the ecological environment.
