Yellow Sea fog extraction method based on GOCI image

  • Sea fog as disastrous weather is an important part of the marine environment monitoring.In this paper, used the GOCI image, a sea fog extraction method which band operations method was built, based on the spectral characteristics of sea water, sea fog and cloud analysis result in the Yellow Sea area.The extraction method was applied to sea fog events of May 25, 2015, and the accuracy of this method was evaluated by kappa coefficient.The results showed:the kappa coefficient of the result was 86.74%; The spatial distribution trend between sea fog extraction results based on GOCI and monitoring results released by the China Meteorological Administration were basically the same.Sea fog extraction method based on GOCI image provides a new direction for the sea fog monitoring, and it is very useful for sea fog real-time dynamic monitoring.
