Advances on heavy metals pollution and its toxicology to sea cucumbers

Abstract:The effects of heavy metals pollution on marine organisms have been extensively reported.The sea cucumber is a worldwide high-value product.As deposit-feeding organisms,however,the exposure risk of heavy metals has also been concerned.The present work briefly reviewed the pollution,toxicity and toxicology of heavy metals in sea cucumbers.On the basis of current foundation,the hotspot issues that would be further studied have been proposed in this paper.
